The Client

Brother UK markets a versatile product and services portfolio including colour & mono laser Printers, Fax Machines, Multi-Function Centres, All-in-one Inkjet printers, Labelling Machines, Web Conferencing, and Managed Print Services.  Products and services are available through selected retail outlets, specialist dealers or online.

The Assignment

In 2014, Atherton Stone were engaged by the Head of Marketing at Brother UK to assist with a number of requirements for an established but growing marketing team.  The client were keen to identify local talent with a focus on personal development and career progression.  As the structure of the marketing function was defined by specialism (e.g. digital, channel etc), it was important that each candidate had specific commercial experience and complimented the existing dynamic of the team.

The Result

Atherton Stone placed 3 roles over a 4 month period.  During the initial meetings, time was spent with management and staff to ensure that both the skills and cultural elements of the brief were properly understood allowing the research team to build a detailed tacit job description.

The structured interview process – including a personality profile and presentation to senior management – was outlined to all candidates at engagement reducing churn particularly between first and second stage interviews.
