Atherton Stone moves to new offices to accommodate growth
Atherton Stone today announced it has moved its corporate headquarters to a new building located in Reading, Berkshire. The move to larger premises has been required to support the company’s successful growth and investment in resources allowing it to deliver top talent to its expanding client base.
Mark Brosnan stated; “Atherton Stone has enjoyed a positive start to 2014 and our new offices will allow us to continue to invest to organically grow the business. This is an exciting development and we look forward to building on our success in the second half of the year”.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect when we decided to take the plunge and actually start our own recruitment company. We had always talked about the possibility of doing it and this was fueled by what we wouldn’t want it to become as much as what we would.
Jeremy and I have worked together for years and have always specialised in digital recruitment. What the bigger recruitment companies don’t seem to understand is that you can’t always apply the same “battery-hen” approach to all sectors. Simply put, relationships matter especially in an industry as niche as digital.
Atherton Stone is based on the simple premise that we will offer a good service to everyone we work with – candidate or client – and this will make our business successful. A good service could be placing someone in their dream job, explaining to a client why they won’t find that “unicorn” they are adamant exists somewhere (even when they definitely don’t) or meeting a referral for a coffee to talk to them about their options. Everyone has heard the recruitment horror stories and we decided to expect better from ourselves and everyone who works at Atherton Stone.
So where has this got us…
Well we are 12 months into our journey and I am glad to report that our first year has been a success. The end result is that we have a financially sound business but this doesn’t tell the whole story. Jeremy and I feel as though we’ve made a difference and stayed true to our values. We have helped our clients – some multinationals, some SMEs – find the individuals who will help drive their digital proposition forward. We have also assisted a number of candidates in getting jobs that will advance their careers and challenge them on a daily basis. It is this feedback that makes the difference and drives Atherton Stone to be better.
So what next…
The new website is a good way to start our second year as we continue to grow Atherton Stone whilst working the way we want to work. Even though some would suggest the value of a recruiter has diminished – due to factors such as social media – I don’t agree and truly believe that a good recruiter can act as a valued partner and an extension to the brand especially when proactively approaching candidates. This is at the core of what Atherton Stone is about and why we set the business up in the first place.
Thanks to everyone who have helped Jeremy and I in our first year and we look forward to working with you in our second. We will be using the News section of our site to offer practical advice and guidance so do feel free to contact us if there is anything we can assist with.
